At Bosch, innovation and competition are deeply embedded in our DNA. Each year, the Bosch Future Mobility Challenge (BFMC) embodies this spirit, becoming a highlight for the Bosch Engineering Center.
It's where groundbreaking ideas meet fierce, yet collaborative, competition, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in #mobility.
We recently celebrated the grand finale of this year’s competition, held as part of the IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium. 🚘💨🤩
This global technical student competition attracted 79 teams this year, with 22 semi-finalist teams invited to Cluj-Napoca. The semi-finalist teams were from 11 countries – Finland, Vietnam, Argentina, Moldova, Italy, Serbia, Canada, Greece, Romania, Estonia, and South Korea. The top 8 teams then advanced to the final round, judged by a Technical Jury comprising Tobias Matter (ME/NE-ECC), Prof. Brendan Morris (Associate Professor, University of Nevada & IEEE Member), Dieter Hoetzer (Chief Executive Officer, Five AI), and Anamaria Beleiu (Global Transformation Lead, SITA Romania).
This year’s final challenge featured a Pac-Man-inspired scoring system rewarding time on the track while penalizing collisions, new tunnel and fog obstacles, and a legacy round where all finalists competed simultaneously to balance scoring and introduce dynamic traffic.
